What happens when we take technology such as the camera, which has historically been used to oppress communities through surveillance and the harmful tropes of mainstream media, is used to flip the gaze and reclaim historical perspective that would otherwise be erased? What does the future look like when we are the ones holding the camera? Join filmmaker Shireen Alihaji in a reflective and educational workshop where participants can consider facets of identity, surveillance, healing, memory, and archive making.
