PUBLIC EXHIBITIONS

Together, these programs create a continuum of visibility and leadership, making space for young artists to define the present and reimagine the future.

Culmination Exhibitions take place twice a year and feature the collective projects created in our semester-long Photo Education programs. At each public reception, students present their work, reflect on their growth as artists, and engage families, peers, and community members in their creative journeys.

Artist-in-Residency programs provide current students and alumni new ways to advance their art and careers. Our annual Student Residency supports one young artist to develop and curate a photography exhibition, while Solo Exhibitions—awarded twice annually—highlight emerging artists ready to work independently and deepen their artistic voices.

Located in Boyle Heights—where arts spaces are too often out of reach—Las Fotos Project has built a gallery that belongs to the community. Our public exhibitions are not just showcases; they are declarations. They bring young women and gender-expansive artists of color center stage, elevating their truths and visions in spaces where their voices have long been overlooked.

Our young people create and produce art that reflects their lived experiences, and that act of creation is a powerful form of self-love and self-determination. Grounded in their authentic truths, these exhibitions expand whose stories are seen, whose voices are heard, and whose identities shape the visual landscape of Los Angeles.
