We’re excited to announce our new Youth Advisory Council! Our Youth Advisory Council is made up of Las Fotos Project students who have a vested interest in furthering the mission of Las Fotos Project and are looking to in deepen their understanding of program and event planning. The Youth Advisory Council will support Las Fotos Project with developing youth-led projects and events. Some of their goals are to support with:

  • Community Engagement oversight and co-curation
  • Annual program themes
  • Annual exhibitions
  • Student & Family Engagement Opportunities

Fabiola Lopez

My name is Fabiola Lopez  I am currently a senior attending HAAT and am part of the Hire Her program. I am passionate about photography and giving back to my community, which is why I love being part of Las Fotos Project. I am excited to be part of Las Fotos Project Youth Advisory Council because I want to help Las Fotos Project become stronger and I want to be able to give back to the program, so this is a perfect opportunity to do so.










Jahana Tellez Dominguez

My name is Jahana Tellez Dominguez and I am a 16-year-old Latina teenage girl who currently goes to Bell High School. I’m interested in learning new things every-day and putting all my effort into what I learn.

I am excited about being in the advisory program because I will learn to become more social and as well making a difference in the community and helping out in any way I can.









Mia Bella Chavez

My name is Mia Bella Chavez and I am a Junior at Flintridge Preparatory School and have been a part of Las Fotos Project since Fall of 2017. I enjoy graphic design, photography, and film-making and hope to enter into a creative field upon completion of college.

In regards to the Youth Advisory Council, I am really excited to show to the rest of the community the Las Fotos Project that I know: one that has so many wonderful opportunities and a lifetime of lessons to offer for those willing to learn. Additionally, I am excited to build on the preexisting foundation of Las Fotos Project and foster new opportunities.








Nathalie Diaz

My name is Nathalie Diaz and I am 17 years old. I am a senior at Ramona Convent Secondary School and some of my hobbies include photography and volunteering.

I am excited about the leadership role at Las Fotos Project that Youth Advisory Council offers! I cannot wait to bring new ideas and hear other ideas of my fellow members!









Regina Zamarripa

My name is Regina Zamarripa and I am a seventeen-year-old photographer from the community of Boyle Heights in Los Angeles and a five-year student with Las Fotos Project. In my photographs, I often incorporates aspects of my cultural background, current environment and images of resilience.

I’m excited to be Chair on the first Las Fotos Project Youth Council  because I have grown so much through the program that I look forward to giving back in my final year. I look forward to taking a leadership role and collaborating with other girls who are equally as passionate about photography and the role of Las Fotos Project in our community.








Xochitl Cruz

My name is Xochitl, I’m 14 years old and attend Eagle Rock High School. I live in Glassell Park, and in my free time when I’m not at cross country practice or taking photos, I listen to music whenever I can, having little dance parties by myself and pretending I’m a rock star.

I’m excited to make friends through the Youth Advisory Council, and I hope to strengthen my leadership skills and have fun organizing events (bc organizing and planning is my jam).
