This semester, our Las Fotos Project students had the opportunity to visit USC Annenberg School of Journalism for Annenberg High School Day (AHSD).

AHSD is a bi-annual program which has become a signature community engagement program of USC Annenberg. AHSD brings together over 100 local youth from the communities surrounding USC’s UPC and HSC campuses. Youth receive a full day of hands-on immersive training in media, journalism, communication, and public relations. In addition, they learn about Annenberg’s undergraduate programs and services. Frank Buckley, Annenberg alum and current co-anchor of KTLA’s Emmy Award-winning signature broadcast, L.A.’s No. 1- rated KTLA Morning News served as the keynote speaker for AHSD.

After AHSD, our students are thinking more about their future in journalism and how Las Fotos Project is helping them get there.
