Viva La Muxer: Behind the Scenes Planning

Viva La Muxer is on the horizon! We had a successful planning meeting with some of our amazing volunteers, mentors, and event producers this past week. Here’s a little #BTS of how our meetings go.

If you don’t already know what Viva La Muxer is, let us explain. Viva La Muxer is an all women art and music festival, a celebration of International Women’s Day, and a benefit event for Las Fotos Project. This year’s event features 150+ visual artists, live music, DJs, bands, singers, spoken word performances, live painting, dancing, food, art, networking, community resource booths, vendors, art workshops, and more! The theme is Boss Lady and we are honoring the entrepreneurial spirit of women around the globe. Viva La Muxer takes place on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Plaza de La Raza in Lincoln Heights. Tickets go on sale in February.

Viva La Muxer is an incredible moment and space for women-identifying folks in LA to gather and celebrate each other’s creativity, efforts, and pure genius,” says Jess Castillo, Viva La Muxer’s Co-Producer, “From the music to the artworks and the vendors, this event really showcases what women-identifying folks can and have been accomplishing for so many years. It’s beautiful and I’m so happy to be a part of the process!”
